Every Saturday in the sports section of the Los Angeles Times, the paper publishes that week's supply of letters to the editor. Frequently, the letters blast players whom fans perceive not to be playing well or hard enough, or call for the firing of one or more of the local coaches or managers.

On December 29, 2007, however, the sports section published a couple letters of a kinder, gentler nature, honoring Stu. They are shown below (you can click on any of the images to enlarge them).

Today's Los Angeles Times featured an article by sports media writer Larry Stewart, summarizing the stories told by several of the speakers at Stu's memorial service last week... A few days ago, the Long Beach Press-Telegram's Bob Keisser also wrote a nice post-memorial piece about Stu, focusing on the relationship between Stu and his wife Sandy.
