Stu died on December 26, 2007, at the age of 81. The following entries will summarize how Stu touched people in hockey, baseball, and broadcasting. Feel free to add your thoughts in the comments section under each entry. Maintained by Alan Reifman (alan.reifman@ttu.edu), whose family was friendly with Stu and his family for over 25 years.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Hj2f-ZGjqlg/R5ke8bDYuRI/AAAAAAAAAU4/dugD1ISmQng/s400/stu+program+cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159188871532558610" />

Every Saturday in the sports section of the Los Angeles Times, the paper publishes that week's supply of letters to the editor. Frequently, the letters blast players whom fans perceive not to be playing well or hard enough, or call for the firing of one or more of the local coaches or managers.

On December 29, 2007, however, the sports section published a couple letters of a kinder, gentler nature, honoring Stu. They are shown below (you can click on any of the images to enlarge them).

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Hj2f-ZGjqlg/R5kfKbDYuSI/AAAAAAAAAVA/aMcLdLw9z-Y/s400/stu+letters+in+the+times.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5159189112050727202" />

Today's Los Angeles Times featured an article by sports media writer Larry Stewart, summarizing the stories told by several of the speakers at Stu's memorial service last week...
